READ ME FIRST!! Welcome to the Universe of Starbase C3!! Purchasing these DatakitsTM launches you into a new future on the Internet. The Starbase C3 Universe combines the best of traditional science fiction storytelling with activities and events that only can be done with the new medium of the Internet. Once built, you can log onto the starbase and submit your designs, images and ideas to our ever growing storyline and universe in cyberspace. Your 3d vrml models can become your avatars in our multi-user vrml zones and your starships design and story may become our C3 Mission of the Week. What's in these folders? Within this package are 6 complete Starship designs each with parts and textures that an be used to create the Starship design as shown.(Look for the .jpg file of each finished design) OR you can mix and match textures and parts to create designs of your own!! Digital kitkabashing just like plastic modelmaking, only neater;) All Starships are individually zipped into their own archive. I suggest you decompress them all, look at all the texturemaps and parts separately to get used to them and know which is which by name and look. Then GET MODELING!!! The Parts are in 3dmax, .dxf and .3ds 3d file formats. This means they will import into almost any 3d application on the Mac and PC. The Textures are .jpgs and are created to be easily edited and dirtied if you wish for that "worn out" look. They are color matched so that they can be used on parts that then can be placed almost anywhere in relationship to each other. Just start placing shapes and parts together..It's almost guarenteed that you'll end up with a cool looking design.!
